Due to the major impact of the firestorms, the event at the Alex Theatre is being rescheduled to January. Details will follow once the charities have determined a suitable date. Several artists and production personnel have lost property and/or have been displaced and need to reschedule. The charities appreciate everyone’s understanding and will advise the January date when confirmed. Thank you for your support and participation.

Jimmy Z says:

“I’ll be looking to play some songs with my old pal Robbie Krieger of the Doors on Nov 16 in the Vinal Covers Benefit for the City of Hope, the leading hospital in cancer treatment and research.

It’s being held at the very cool 100-year-old vintage Alex Theatre in Glendale.

It looks like I’ll also be seeing guitarist extraordinaire Danny Johnson. Danny and I joined the Rod Stewart Group at the same time in 1981 and toured 4 weeks in Japan another few weeks in Hong Kong and Bangkok.

We also played on Rod’s multi-platinum album “Tonight I’m Yours.”

Lot’s of crazy times. Been a long time. It’ll be good to see him. He has a role in one of my blogs Korean BBQ Legs.

Come on out to enjoy some good music for a great cause. Well worth your time!

Some of the other artists include Dig the Kid, Shayna Adler, Chris Warner (ex-jet west), Neil Turbin (former Anthrax Lead Vocalist), Hobie Givens, Tunnel Vision, The Raskins, Old James, Sheppards Kingdom, Jimmy Hall (Wet Willie/Jeff Beck group), Dwight Twilley (pop rocker/writer), Desi & Cody, guitar legend Danny Johnson (Steppenwolf, Derringer); they will lead a “Born to Wild” all star jam to celebrate the song’s nomination to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as in the newly created “Most Influential Rock Song” category, with The Expendables (Silverback Mgt), Kaleo Wassman (Pepper) and others stepping up to the plate as their busy schedules allow.”
